Money Well Spent Or Money Well Wasted

You are selling your home, and realize that it needs some attention.  Why, you ask, should I spend money on cosmetics that I will not get to enjoy myself?  Should I not just sell the property "as is" and let the new owners decide for themselves as to what improvements to make?  Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to this dilemma.  What would you want to see as a home buyer?  Think about it, and consider making your property fit your criteria for a home purchase.  If you are not concerned about first impressions, clean appliances, fresh paint on the walls, etc., then you are essentially ruling out buyers who want to purchase a house that is "move in ready".  I've seen both sides of this situation, as a buyers agent, as a sellers agent and as a transaction broker.  Let your conscience, and your budget guide you as what should, or could be done to help sell your property.
